Claiming credit where credit isn’t due

In the March issue of Better Farming, Randy Jackiw, the chief executive officer for Agricorp, claimed that administering a CAIS file in Ontario cost between $500 and $600, while it costs more than $800 to administer a CAIS file in provinces where the federal government administers CAIS.

While Jackiw would like readers to believe this “saving” was because of the talents of the people at Agricorp, I suggest he’s never considered the very strong possibility that the “saving” was because Ontario’s farm accounting practitioners do a far better than average job of preparing the CAIS applications in the first place.

It seems to me Jackiw is trying to take credit for something Agricorp didn’t do, but which Ontario’s farm accountants did.
