ST. CATHARINES – It was like trying to ignore an elephant in the room. Although 20 Bees Winery and the Niagara Vintners Inc. went into receivership in February, potentially affecting about one-quarter of the acreage of wine grapes grown in Niagara, discussions of the impact of this event were noticeably absent from the chairman’s and general manager’s reports and from any other formal discussions during the Grape Growers of Ontario’s annual meeting this week.
