This year’s event was held Feb. 14 to 17 at the Kentucky Exposition Center with over 800 exhibitors showcasing their newest farm equipment across 10 exhibit halls. This year’s NFMS drew a crowd of over 300,000, with many international visitors. Their companion event, the Champion Tractor Pull, saw record-breaking ticket sales for each of their three sold-out shows. Over 73,000 came to watch the tractor-pull events. Our Ryan Ridley made the trip to Kentucky for a look at many of the most exciting new releases in farm equipment. AF11 Combine, from Case IH The new AF11 combine looks to improve your runtime and capacity while offering new automation technology. Powered by 775 HP, Case IH’s newest combine has a 567-bushel capacity with a six-bushel-per-second unload rate. To improve the runtime, the RPM has been dropped down from 2,100 to 1,900, saving the operator additional fuel. New automation technology in the cab allows you to adjust the cleaning system, as well as your residue spread. BD7410 Box Drill, from Great Plains This narrow-transport drill has a 13’ working width, which folds to under 10’ to fit through gates and down the road. The Great Plains metering system can adjust for different application rates by changing the meter wheel’s RPM, allowing different sizes of seed and fertilizer to pass through the same seed cup. An optional split-box configuration can accommodate two products simultaneously. 410R Self-Propelled Sprayer, from John Deere John Deere had its 410R self-propelled sprayer on display at NFMS. The 410R has a 1,000-gallon tank, up to a 132foot boom, and their See & Spray system with advanced camera and nozzle-control technology. Under the hood, the 410R is powered by a 310 HP, 9L engine.
