Global markets are trading slightly lower in the early session as German economic sentiment data came in lower than expected and one of the key members of the US Federal Reserve Bank remarked that the US is not in any serious danger of inflation or deflation so the US central bank does not need to continue its policy of increasing the money supply.
 
Crops:
Speculators are beginning to react to USDA planting data, according to FarmFutures.com. The USDA released its weekly crop progress report yesterday afternoon. It showed that US corn planted as of last week was at 28% versus a five year average 65%. There is growing concern that yields will be affected. According to a contributor on #corn twitter, the main corn producing region in China is also experiencing planting due to cold damp weather.
 
 
Livestock:
Hog prices are trading higher this morning with expectations of tighter inventories into June, according to FarmFutures.com
