Sales of all tractors in Canada for February 2011 were up 10.6 per cent compared to the same month last year, four points ahead of the 6.6 per cent increase recorded in the United States in February.
The data, released in the Association of Equipment Manufacturers' monthly Flash Report, said a total of 972 tractors were sold in Canada in February 2011, compared to 883 sold in February 2010. U.S. sales totaled 8,776 farm tractors sold in February 2011 bringing year- to-date sales in the U.S. up 5.2 per cent over 2010.
While Canada made bigger percentage gains in February, year-to-date sales are down 5.9 per cent from 2010 figures. BF
