Page Background CONSERVATION AUTHORITIES ACT IN ROUND 2 OF REVIEW The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry recently released its second discussion paper “Conserving our Future” as part of a review of the Conservation Authorities Act and regulations. Participating in the consultation process, the Ontario Federation of Agriculture (OFA) identified five priority areas and will submit a formal response by the September 2016 deadline. Here are some highlights from our submission. Request for better agricultural representation on conservation authority boards across the province Clarify the regulatory scope of conservation authorities on private farmland Establish a “one window” access point for coordination of all programs Final changes to the Conservation Authorities Act are expected in late 2016, early 2017.
