As of this week, there’s a new face captaining the delivery of farm business risk management programs and other related services at Agricorp.
On Monday, Agricorp’s former chief information officer, Doug LaRose, became the Crown corporation’s new CEO.
LaRose “brings a strong business and technical expertise to the role of CEO along with extensive knowledge of Agricorp’s programs and system,” says a press release the provincial crown corporation issued on Wednesday.
He took over from Randy Jackiw, who was the CEO for 13 years. Jackiw has moved to the assistant deputy minister’s position in the economic development branch of the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs.
LaRose says by email Agricorp’s vision is set out in the business plan created by the board and ministry and he plans to continue delivering “our work as set out in our three-year business plan.”
LaRose was Agricorp’s chief information officer from 2007 and led the corporation’s information technology division that delivers information technology services and strategic initiatives.
He has more than 25 years of previous experience in information technology. BF
