Ontario agriculture has lost one of its most dedicated promoters.

Ginty Jocius, described by those who knew him as a “visionary” and “mentor,” died Jan. 2 at his home. He had battled cancer for the past two years.

The founder of Ginty Jocius & Associates, in Guelph, a firm specializing in agricultural communications, Jocius launched Strategic Research Associates and Agribiz.net, now Farms.com.
