When the Ontario Greenhouse Vegetable Growers board meets later this month with five newly elected directors attending the meeting for their first time, it will be setting priorities for the 2013/14 growing season.
But George Gilvesy, Greenhouse Growers general manager, says, “I don’t think our priorities are going to change.” The main ones are maintaining market access, research, marketing, environmental matters and energy matters. “Those are the same types of things that will keep rolling.”
The new directors for the 2013/14 growing season were elected at the Greenhouse Growers’ annual meeting in London on Oct. 30. They were each elected for a two-year term and began their term today.
The new board members are:
• For District 1 – Tony Coppola and Jordan Kniaziew
• For District 2 – Naunihal Gill, Marco Hoogenboom and James Neven.
The five new members join the current five board members on the board. The terms for the current board members end Oct. 31, 2014. BF
