Wroxeter area dairy goat farmers and cheese makers, Gordon and Bethany Edgar owners of Gordon’s Goat Dairy, are getting $15,000 from the Ontario Rural Economic Development Program to expand their business, develop new products and tap into new markets.
The makers of artisan cheese and goat milk products will use the money to help install two new production systems, increase production capacity by 50 per cent and produce and sell bottled goat milk.
Bethany Edgar said the funding will help “increase our production so we can continue to provide our growing customer base with quality, natural goat milk products, made right here in Huron-Bruce."
Gordon’s Goat Dairy produces handmade cheeses including gouda, havarti, cheddar and C-Line, an original-recipe cheese that adds “special probiotic” to the havarti recipe. BF
