U.S. poultry is profitable but not growing Tuesday, June 8, 2010 Poultry is profitable in the United States, but U.S. Department of Agriculture reports indicate that broiler-type pullet hatchings are down by as much as three per cent from a year before. An earlier estimate predicted that such hatchings would be up by two per cent. On the egg production side, the number of eggs per layer fell by 1.3 per cent in March. The decline was blamed on older hens and poor weather.Buying shares in broiler producer Tyson Foods and egg company Sanderson Farms is a good bet, according to an April report in TheMeatingplace.com, a meat industry newsletter aimed at agribusiness in the United States. Higher earnings per share are expected over the next few quarters, and certainly to the end of 2010. BF Dude was too much for the fox Farmers obtain levy exemption
