Latest Pigeon King court 'appearance' leads to another next week Friday, March 2, 2012 by BETTER FARMING STAFFA hearing to determine procedures in the Crown's case against Arlan Galbraith will be held next week in a Kitchener courtroom. In a scheduled appearance in Kitchener court today, Galbraith's lawyer, Paul Williams, told Justice of the Peace A. Child that a hearing will be held Feb. 27 in Courtroom 102 before Justice G. Hearn. Galbraith has not been required to attend any of the nine scheduled "appearances," since being released on bail in Dec 2010. "We want to confirm certain issues on the record clarifying procedural issues as to how to go forward," Williams said outside of the courtroom. Williams said he was reluctant to talk to the press, noting that there is a publication ban in place on evidence relating to the case. As Better Farming has reported previously a publication ban in this matter prevents details of Galbraith's release on bail. Galbraith, the former owner of now defunct Pigeon King International, was charged with fraud over $5,000 in December, 2010, following a two-year investigation by RCMP and Waterloo Regional police. Neither the fraud charge, nor four counts under the Bankruptcy Act, has been proven in court. BF Behind the Lines - March 2012 Record breaking net farm income in 2011, says Agriculture Canada
