Livestock feed companies merge Wednesday, December 5, 2012 by SUSAN MANNTwo commercial livestock and poultry feed companies, Masterfeeds Inc. and Ridley Inc., have joined forces to create the second largest feed provider in Canada.The new company is called Masterfeeds LP and has its headquarters in London. Robert Flack, president and CEO of Masterfeeds Inc. was named CEO of the new company. He couldn’t be reached for comment.The companies announced their merger on Oct. 18 but had to complete agreements and seek regulatory approvals before finalizing the deal. The merger joins Ridley’s Feed-Rite brand with Masterfeeds. The new company will operate 22 feed manufacturing plants and employ more than 500 people in a area stretching across Ontario, Quebec and the Prairie provinces.
