According to the Winnipeg Free Press, Spruce Manor's choice of disposal method prompted an investigation lead by SIP Commissioner Ronald Kruzeniski who – in a not-very-surprising move – recommended in his final report that Spruce Manor not use a chicken farm to destroy records. He also added: "I find using a chicken farm to destroy records unacceptable."Some people prefer to use shredded paper as bedding in chicken coops but, when disposing of private documents, CyberLex recommends that you don't leave things to chance: either destroy it yourself or hire a professional service.
