Utah dairy farmers take on the power company Sunday, March 4, 2012 Dairy farmers located near a giant power project in Utah have won a strategic battle in a long-standing legal fight against a local power plant and the stray voltage they claim it produces.Utah's Court of Appeals ruled in January that expert witness Dr. Andy Keeter would be allowed to testify. According to KSL.com, the website for a local television station, the trial judge had ruled that testimony by the key expert witness on behalf of more than a dozen farmers was inadmissible because other expert witnesses disagreed with his methodology. Intermountain Power Agency is considering taking the ruling to a higher court. Another key defendant is the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power. Some of the area's farmers came to Utah nearly two decades ago from New England. The timing and location of a jury trial remain uncertain. Farmers assert they will never get a fair trial in Delta, where so many jobs depend upon the power plant. BF The puzzling death of two agricultural workers Are James Herriot's days over?
