Veal, goat, rabbit producers to meet Thursday, March 24, 2011 by BETTER FARMING STAFFOntario Goat, Ontario Veal and Ontario Rabbit, all independent organizations which share resources under the umbrella of the Ontario Livestock Alliance, will hold their first joint annual general meeting on April 8 at the Ancaster Fairgrounds. One of the major initiatives expected to come out of the meeting is the announcement of a marketing campaign for Ontario goat cheese.Kendra Keels, who works for the alliance as industry development manager for Ontario Veal, Goat and Rabbit, said all three organizations will meet together in the morning and then break off into their various organizations, return for lunch and then close the meeting together.Ontario Goat, with representatives from the meat, milk and fibre arms of the industry, is the most recent member of the alliance which was formed in 2009.The April 8 launch will be the first consumer marketing campaign targeted at promoting and increasing consumption of Ontario produced goat cheese.
