L to R: Pullet barn owners Marcel Leroux and Jean Souligny, Warren Abar, president iSolara and Marcel Laviolette the third barn owner show off the latest solar project to power up in eastern Ontario. It took 14 months from the time the group applied for approval under Ontario's Feed In Tariff program until their 100 kW system was connected. Cost was about $600,000. Expected return is around $100,000 per year. A few months ago the three independent St. Isidore area layer operators held a barn opening for their joint-venture pullet barn that the solar panels are attached to. On Wednesday neighbours and well-wishers from Ontario's poultry industry were again on hand for the solar launch. BF

Only in Ontario could consumers be forced to pay more to buy not only the chicken produced under a roof of a barn, but also the electricity produced on the roof of the same barn.

Congratulations to the owners for investing in clean, safe electricity for everyone!
Might I be correct in assuming you sell electricity, but don't buy any?

How much do we spend on nuclear energy?
I don't want my tax money to support a disaster just waiting to happen.
I would rather spend it on clean, safe electricity.
