It took 14 months from the time the group applied for approval under Ontario's Feed In Tariff program until their 100 kW system was connected. Cost was about $600,000. Expected return is around $100,000 per year. A few months ago the three independent St. Isidore area layer operators held a barn opening for their joint-venture pullet barn that the solar panels are attached to. On Wednesday neighbours and well-wishers from Ontario's poultry industry were again on hand for the solar launch.
