The Independent beekeepers association replaced the Grey Bruce beekeepers association which hasn't had a meeting in about two years. Local associations are a great smaller venue for beekeepers to get together more regularly than the big provincial OBA does, and discuss local concerns. They provide a good opportunity for newbees just like Hugh Simpson (he got his 1st bees only about 3 years ago) to connect and learn from experienced beekeepers. There are currently 26 local beekeeping associations in Ontario.
