Canada's cattle industry is 'broken': NFU

© AgMedia Inc.

A new report on Canada's cattle industry by the National Farmers' Union recommends banning packer ownership and control of cattle and refocusing the industry on serving the domestic market.

Seems Canada has its very own RCALF.

While globalisation is not an easy pill, it is ludicrous to think Canada can go its own way unless of course supply management is extended to the cattle industry.

Supply management should be introduced to the cattle industry. Just think of all these wasted years that cattle producers could have been enjoying greater profits such as their neighbours who milk or are into feathers.
