Organizations like CFA, CFIA, CAC and CCA should KNOW by now that we consumers, and especially we in the farm community, should NEVER take legislators' "intentions" on drawing up new legislation or regulations "on faith" that future wording will be acceptable. If there is any possible loophole or misinterpretation then the goverrnment or some other special interest group will be certain to use it against us. When revising regulations/legislation it is important that the full package be made available. Never believe them that "trust us" is adequate!

All we need is for one person to do something stupid and/or knowingly wrong and we will be right back into the boat we were in with the BSE announcement. Sometimes you just have to put up with losing a bit to keep the rest. This kind of thing is ripe for abuse. Get yourself decent insurance, or push for a better compensation program, don't risk the industry for the rest of us.
