Grain Farmers unfazed by court ruling

To refer to the Grain Farmers of Ontario (GFO) as "unphased" is delightfully-apt because it means "out-of-step" and/or "out-of-touch". "Unfazed", the word Better Farming probably wanted to use, means "undaunted". Better Farming's poor choice of words when describing GFO's fumblings and bumblings inadvertently turned out to be completely-appropriate and, therefore, the best laugh of the week.

At its recent annual convention, the Catholic Women's League (CWL) resolved to "urge the federal government to ban the use of neonicotinoid pesticides" and is also asking its members to "write to your local members of parliament requesting a ban on the widespread use of neonicotinoid pesticides".

It's like this GFO supporters and neonicotinoid fans who warble about "good science", when you're on the wrong side of the CWL, you have a formidable adversary.

Although the CWL isn't a proxy for all of society, their resolution exemplifies exactly why GFO is chasing a lost cause.
