Grant could help ailing bee populations

Ontario beekeepers lost a record 43 per cent of their colonies last winter

Comments

Currently we have been beekeepers for 30 years. Never have we seen such losses. 80% last year then 80% this year. We are being destroyed. Our operation is 100% certified Organic and we have no mite. It will take us years to rebuild with a mite free stock. Are there any grants in Canada for struggling farmers. They keep putting this down to winter kill. We had such a mild winter this year, that it is impossible it was due to that. Our Bees were killed off before winter as none of their honey stock was touched. Please if you have some information to assist us, otherwise we are lost and will have to shut down.
