Two things jump out when I read something of this nature .
# 1 is the fact of how much money was wasted in having yet another think tank do a study that could have been answered by any farmer in the country .

# 2 is the fact that this think tank does not acknowledge the fact that SM support in this country hurts all non SM products when it comes to trade deals and likely more so when it comes to companies wanting to process those products here in Canada .

I was almost shocked to see that the high and ever increasing cost of hydro rates was even mentioned .

While talking to people whom live over seas I was shocked to find out that the consider all food on our continent contaminated and poisonous. If the sector really wants to raise the amount of food we can ship globally over seas might I suggest getting rid of ingredients that the people over seas do not want to consume like GMO's, food with high pesticide, herbicide, fungicide and insecticide levels, chemical and petrolium based additives and preservatives.

What people want and what people are willing to pay for are usually two different animals.
