Jersey Canada appoints new general manager Tuesday, August 30, 2011 by BETTER FARMING STAFFKathryn Kyle has been appointed executive secretary/general manager of Jersey Canada. In her new role, she will act as a liaison between the Jersey Canada members and board of directors, represent the Jersey breed at industry meetings and functions, promote the breed and assist with market development, spearhead public relations and communications for the association, and coordinate staff and office activities.Raised on a Jersey farm in Ayr Ontario, Kyle earned a B.Sc. at Wilfrid Laurier University then served as interim registrar for Jersey Canada. She relocated to Alberta in 2003 to work for Alta Genetics where she held a number of positions including product development coordinator. Kyle returned to Ontario in 2010 to act as interim agriculture manager for the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair. Her volunteer activities have included secretary/treasurer of the Jersey Cattle Association of Alberta, 4-H leader, and member of the Calgary Stampede dairy and international youth livestock committees.
