The food will likely be grown and pack in China for all Canadians to enjoy.

no the tomatoes will be grown by local farmers who have become greedy and expanding farmers who push land prices up . Tomatoes is the same as supply management, it helps screw the farmers who are not supply management tomatoe farmers

The gentleman is mistaken in all his comments. There is no supply management, no quota value. The farmer does not own production rights and in reality ceases to be a producer from the time his crop is harvested until he signs a contract in the spring to grow a new crop for a processor. Experienced growers can and do lose contracts. Produce prices are not set by farmers as in supply management but are negotiated with industry and remain in ball park with growers in the US. Not even close to supply management.
