Pigeon King International owner Arlan Galbraith's house in Waterloo went on the market just over a week ago says Remax agent Scott Miller.
The listing of the 2,280 square foot home coincides with Galbraith's announcement last week that Pigeon King was going out of business and that he intended to declare bankruptcy and that he would have to sell his house to settle an outstanding tax bill with the federal government.
Miller says Galbraith has owned the two storey, detached, single family dwelling for just over a year. It is located in eastern Waterloo, not far off University Avenue and just a few minutes drive from the Pigeon King International administration office on Northfield Drive. The asking price is $389,000.
The home is located in a 10-year-old neighbourhood called East Bridge on the Grand. "You can almost see the Grand (river) from there," says Miller.
The real estate listing on the Internet describes the four bedroom, house as "amazing bright and spacious neotradional(sic) design." "Kitchen opens to a large deck over looking beautiful prof(essionally) landscaped pie shaped backyard," says the website.
"The owner is there occasionally," Miller says. "The grass gets cut." Interest is high, says Miller "We've had quite a few viewings.” And he adds, “there's an open house on the weekend.” BF © 2008
