The homey smell of Bavaria

Europeans looking for a special gift from Germany for their family or friends can buy Countryside Air To Go!

It's a recloseable can that smells like cows, hay, bedding and . . . er . . . "muck," according to a translation from the original German. The English version of the website says a can might be a good gift for people who have "migrated to the city" and are missing a certain rural essence from their past life.

The online advertisement reads: "The box is recloseable. Therefore, you're able to enjoy the original countryside air a few times."

Hmm.  Livestock farmers' neighbours in Canada often complain about the smell. And they are getting it for free. What gives? Is that odour better because it's Bavarian? Or maybe because it comes with a lid? BF
