Veterans take vice president positions at OFA Monday, November 21, 2011 By BETTER FARMING STAFF Two veterans at the Ontario Federation of Agriculture’s board table will take on the role of the organization’s vice-presidents.On Tuesday, the second day of the organization’s annual meeting, held in Toronto, Don McCabe and Debra Pretty-Straathof were elected to the seats.For Lambton County’s McCabe, it’s the third time he’s been elected to the seat. It’s a first for Pretty-Straathof, who has been an OFA board director for 10 years and for the last three years has represented Arnprior, Renfrew, Lanark and Ottawa regions. McCabe and Pretty-Straathof beat Keith Currie, Simcoe County, Wayne Black from Huron County and Larry Davis from Brant County for the positions. On Tuesday afternoon, Currie was returned to his previous position as executive member. On Monday, Joe Dickenson was returned to position of Director At Large on the federation’s board.
