West Grey plant gets federal boost

It wasn't just about the money when Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada when it delivered $70,000 to a beef processor near Durham in Grey County, late last month. Local MP Larry Miller made the announcement at West Grey Premium Beef. The company, which claims to source its beef mostly from farms within 50 miles of its plant, will use the assistance to buy new meat processing equipment to expand its production capacity, achieve federal inspection status, and sell beyond provincial borders.
